Sustainability
As we come across in our everyday life about decarbonization, Greenhouse gas emission, climate change, global warming and environmental sustainability. The method of agriculture and modes of transportation to move food account for more than one-third of all global Greenhouse gas emissions.
There are many approaches to decarbonising in agriculture. Regenerative agriculture helps us to bring outcome-based food production systems by restoring soil health, protecting the climate, water resources and biodiversity and enhancing productivity and profitability. It delivers positive environmental outcomes for people and our planet and key practices include:
Intercropping – where multiple crops are planted together. Enhances biodiversity, reduces yield variability, decreases weed competition and durable disease control, enabling reduced inputs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Agroforestry – ‘Agriculture with trees’. It involves a wide range of trees that are protected, regenerated, and planted in agricultural landscapes as they interact with annual crops, livestock, wildlife and humans.
Integrating livestock – reduces reliance on external inputs like synthetic fertilisers and pesticides, improves soil health, and enhances overall farm sustainability.
Innotraders stand with farmers from land preparation to post-harvesting handling. We work closely with farmers to regenerate their degraded natural resources and improve their lives sustainably. It’s a win-win situation for farmers who want change and Innotraders who are working to change the world.
